coming late tonight and you will feel the difference tomorrow, as the winds will really be ramping up. our hour-by-hour winds by tomorrow morning, look at the winds increasing at the delaware beaches and the jersey shore. and as we go through the day on saturday, those winds reach inland, as well, stronger winds gusting, a tropical storm watch is in effect for the shore. and for the delaware beaches, through the holiday weekend. by saturday afternoon, we're still seeing those strong wind gusts. and we'll likely be dealing some rain at that time, as well. the winds, tropical storm watch in effect. winds could peak at 50 miles an hour or more. those gusts, most likely on sunday afternoon. the ocean, dangerous rip currents as a result of those winds and the storm churning offshore, as well as rough seas for boaters, and the flood threat, well, that will exist, especially around time of high tide. late saturday night, sunday morning, and sunday evening. coastal flooding in new jersey and delaware, minor to moderate

flooding. the back bays could be in for some major flooding. and adding to the threat, heavy coastal rains. extreme southeastern new jersey, in cape may county, right along the coast, 4 to 6 inches, and the delaware beaches, it's possible, 4 to 6 inches. but it also comes down to the track of this storm. the heaviest rainfall expected on sunday. for today, sunshine. nice and bright, but just to the south. you can see the clouds, there's the rain shield, already in the carolinas, north carolina, and the storm, though it is weakening, it's still a powerful 50-mile-an-hour wind storm. the tropical storm will maintain its tropical storm status as it heads to the north, spreading drenching rain and the potential for severe weather in north carolina. this is late tonight at 11:30. by then, the clouds are starting to move into southern delaware and south jersey. the clouds will arrive overnight tonight, and tomorrow morning at 10:00, some rain in southern delaware, just so the scattered light rain will be increasing as

we go into the afternoon. now, this is where some of the computer models disagree, this computer model keeps the heaviest rain offshore and pushes the storm farther offshore. but not all of the models agree. they all take it offshore. that's good news for us. but a small track to the east will bring the rainfall amounts, the potential rainfall amounts down significantly. but the converse is true, too. a smaller, closer to the shore move will bring us heavier rain even inland. and then it lingers, well into next week. today, no problem. lots of sunshine, low 80s. clouds increasing this evening for the suburbs and the lehigh valley. beautiful sunshine today, turning mostly cloudy later today. delaware, sunny skies, near 80 degrees this afternoon, and close to 80 also for new jersey, and really pleasant at the shore, but the clouds will be arriving late tonight and the labor day weekend, we are in for the wind and rain.

a chance of showers for philadelphia. clouds build for the suburbs and the lehigh valley. we'll still get some breaks of sunshine, especially first thing tomorrow morning, but less likely to see run and more likely to see rain developing for the south shore and delaware. the worst may come through on sunday, dependent on the track of that storm. by monday, we'll likely see some sunshine breaking through in the lehigh valley, the suburbs, philadelphia, but less like for the jersey shore and delaware, where clouds and showers will likely linger and be the wind will still be an issue into next week. along with rough surf and rip currents, as that storm is expected to linger offshore for days. >> yeah, today is literally the calm before the storm, so it's a day to prepare yourself, bring furniture in, but also you mentioned, rip currents. stay out of the water. >> the water, especially with temperatures, where we've seen them lately, but that danger is lurking in the water. and that's good advice for preparing for the storm, because there's going to be a lot of

wind and the potential for a lot of wind right along the coastline. if it looks like it could blow away, it may very well blow away. you might want to bring it inside. >> thank you very much, bill. good advice. we'll be right back.
